Saturday was yet another gorgeous day for another gorgeous wedding! I headed out to Lindsey, NE for the ceremony and we got some gorgeous pictures before mass. It was great to finally meet Jesse and Sara! I LOVED your dress Sara! It was absolutely stunning and you were glowing in it! The ceremony was gorgeous, and everything went perfect as planned. I really loved the sermon. It was one of the most touching Catholic ceremonies I have been to, and since I too am Catholic its always a joy to be involved in Catholic weddings! After the ceremony, we all headed to Leigh, NE where the reception was held at the fair grounds. When I walked into the building, I was seriously stunned at the decorations! The lighting decorations were AMAZING to say the least, and the limes in the vases were perfect! Everything was so gorgeous and very well planned! Thanks again you two for having me capture your wedding day! Thanks for choosing NWD and enjoy your images and video!

Melissa & Brent; April 10th, Columbus, NE
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing one of my best friends weddings. It was an absolutely joy to work with someone that is such a dear friend, and be able to have so much fun with it! We started off the morning with a few drinks at the hair salon to cool the girls nerves! It was probably one of my favorite hair sessions to date! I got some AMAZING shots and the girls were so gorgeous how could I not! Then onto the church! I had yet to photograph at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus so I was pumped to see the inside, since the outside was gorgeous. And yes, the inside was just as stunning! Melissa and Brent chose to stay traditional, and not see each other till the ceremony, so formals started with the guys and went back and forth from the girls to the guys as people began to arrive. We even had some time to go a few blocks down for some really fun pictures in the down town area!!! They had a gorgeous ceremony and their first looks at each other even brought me to tears! Good thing I can hide behind my camera ;) After the ceremony, they had the releasing of doves....GORGEOUS! And then we continued on with formals. I could tell everyone was exhausted, and wanted to party, so we made it short and sweet! Then onto the party! I loved all the hand made decorations and the fish in each vase was so neat! I even got to take one home, which later ended in a little "fall", but I was able to save one of the fish! Anyways, they had a crazy wedding party, and such fun families to work with! I got some great fun shots and I can't wait to show you and your families the rest! I had a blast and thanks so much for having me part of your special day! Next time a little less crying at the reception for me! I guess my best friends wedding really got to me :) Love you both and have fun on your amazing island honeymoon!!! Enjoy your sneak peaks and video!
Wedding Photography Tips and Suggestions
I was recently talking to one of my brides friends the other day, and she was discussing her wedding and how things went. She soon got into her photographer and she was saying how disgusted she was with how things went and how it had been 5 months since her wedding and she had yet to receive any images or proofs. She seemed absolutely crushed that it was taking so long to see the most important pictures of her life, and it troubled me. After much discussion and advice, I figured I would share the advice with all of my prospective clients.
When you are looking to book a wedding photographer, ALWAYS ask questions, and lots! Believe me, you aren't going to annoy or offend us at all! I actually feel better knowing my couples are on top of things and know what they want! It makes my job much easier knowing what my clients want ahead of time. Another thing to ask, especially if they are doing this as a side job or another full time job (as I am) is to ask when they work. Some may just work weekends, or one day a week; it all just depends on the photograph(s). And in the contract that you are to sign if and when you book, be sure it says somewhere in there when you will receive your images/proofs/products from your wedding! These are some key things that I am noticing from a lot of people I come in contact with, and they wished they would have asked!
For all of you wondering about those questions from me, I will get them out in the open now! :) I work AT LEAST four nights a week (I work a job from 8-4 on weekdays and usually get to work right after that and work till at least 10pm) Weekends I work when I can around weddings and sittings, and family time but I usually get a good 8 hours in on the weekends as well. As far as my turn around time on weddings, I usually have your proofs/discs to you within 2 months of your wedding date (Keep in mind that does vary from month to month depending on my workload but so far in my years of photographing weddings I have made that deadline) Orders for photographs take anywhere from 2-3 weeks once payment is received and specialty orders such as albums may take one to two months.
I hope this helps some of you out but I wanted to share this story with some people, and make sure that EVERY bride-to-be and groom-to-be are getting EXACTLY what they were dreaming of!

Double Duty at 9 Months!
Ohh how time flies! After having this session postponed so many times due to me being sick, or the twins being sick, we FINALLY got it all set up and done! Landyn & Brylee have gotten so big since their 6 month session and watching them grow up has been an absolute joy! I just love working with kids and this session went so smoothly! I even got to use some new chairs I got as props for the twins! It was a great session and I hope you and your families enjoy them! See you in 3 months for their 1 year pictures! Enjoy!

Technical Difficulties causing Delays
As some of you may or may not know, we had a computer crash this last Friday due to an unseen problem. Right now it is being worked on down in Omaha, and I want to assure everyone that ALL client files are save and backed up! Orders, sessions AND weddings will all be delayed. I am so sorry for the inconvenience! If you have any questions you can email me directly at angie@neworldesigns.com and I will answer your questions as soon as possible. Please bare with me during this stressful time and all orders/weddings/sessions will be finished ASAP once my computer is back. We are expecting early next week for the repairs to be done, and if the hard drive is fine, I will be back up and running in no time! Sessions ARE still being booked so be sure to check out the specials on my website! Happy Spring everyone and thanks for everyone's patience so far! I truly appreciate it!
Kimberly & Jed Engagements
Last week I had the pleasure to photograph one of my amazing wedding couples engagements! Kim and I graduated high school together so it is was great to catch up and see whats new in her life! I'd met Jed during their wedding consultation so it was nice to know who her fiance was before the engagement session! We started off at the local park, and had a GORGEOUS spring day! Everything was starting to green up and that's just what Kim wanted! After some park shots, we walked to a lake, and ended at the river. It was an amazing session with an amazing couple and I am so excited for their wedding later this year! I hope you two enjoy the images and thanks again for choosing NWD!
